With over 4 years of experience, I began my love for photography and videography after picking up my dad’s camera and taking it with me everywhere I went. After falling in love with the art of capturing moments in time, I found peace in street photography around my home town of Melbourne, Australia.
I slowly expanded to new forms of photography, from landscapes to portraits, enjoying every second of it and learning along the way. At this time I slowly began shooting commercial work, including birthdays, engagement parties, and weddings.
After slowly realising what I truly loved to do with a camera, I shifted my work to mixing between both video and photo. Helping business’ reach new audience, produce high quality campaigns and create strong connections with storytelling, and through the power of stratergy and high quality visuals.
In 2021 Ruben was awarded first place in the junior category at the Australian Photography Awards.
"This image is one of my favourites because it's a portrait of a stranger and is closer up with nice blurred bokeh in the background. I think this photo portrays two things. The first is the whole COVID-19 pandemic that has shocked the entire world for two years, him wearing the mask symbolises it, and second is diversity. In Australia and in Melbourne where I live there is so much diversity which is amazing and makes Australia different and I think this image shows the different nationalities that Australia has welcomed."
